JOAN OF ARC WORKSHOP
Rev. Theo Clarke

WORKSHEET

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe:

“The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. Therefore, whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.”

EXERCISE ONE: Briefly recount an instance where, by simply beginning, you experienced such a demonstration.

EXERCISE TWO: Define a goal, a purpose, that you feel strongly about.

EXERCISE THREE: Write a statement of commitment to accomplish this goal or purpose.

EXERCISE FOUR: State how and when you will begin.

In the Spirit of Joan of Arc
A Workshop about Boldness, Beginning, and Spiritual Demonstration

by Rev. Theodore C. Clarke

This workshop is based on the spiritual premise, so beautifully articulated by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: “Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.” With a faith that passeth understanding, Joan of Arc convinced king, clergy, intelligencia, generals, and the people of France that she had been sent by God to save France. With abiding faith she accomplished what she set out to do, by simply beginning.

It has been said that next to Jesus, Joan of Arc was the most spiritual being to ever walk the face of Earth. Employing spectacular 35 mm slides he took during three journeys through France retracing the footsteps of Joan of Arc, and with deep insights garnered during those journeys, Rev. Theo will guide us as we plumb the psyche of Joan of Arc and harvest the profound spiritual lessons she bestowed on us across the centuries.
With Science of Mind principals as basis, Goethe’s text as manual, and Joan of Arc as role model, we will set goals, embody intent, and commit to begin.
